Seek not afar for beauty; lo, it glows in dew-wet grasses all about your feet. In birds, in sunshine, childish faces sweet, in stars and mountain summits topped with snows.

These churches accept the religion of Jesus, holding, in accordance with his teaching, that practical religion is summed up in love to God and love to man.

We say we exchange words when we meet. What we exchange is souls.

If we can say with Seneca, "This life is only a prelude to eternity," then we need not worry so much over the fittings and furnishings of this ante-room; and more than that, it will give dignity and purpose to the fleeting days to know they are linked with the eternal things as prelude and preparation.

If any young man expects without faith, without thought, without study, without patient, persevering labor, in the midst of and in spite of discouragement, to attain anything in this world tht is worth attaining, he will simply wake up, by-and-by, and find that he has been playing the part of a fool.

Virtue is certainly the most noble and secure possession a man can have.
