Indian Guru, Advocate of Transcendental Meditation Movement

"We have been impossible right from the beginning and we must continue to be impossible because we are raising a voice against suffering which has been considered to be the nature of life. It is our joy to be considered impossible - and it is our greater joy to make the impossible a living reality."

"Well begun is half done. That which comes slow comes solid."

"We must just pick something GREAT to do, and then DO it."

"Well, you see, it is like this. Absolutely everything is fixed, and absolutely everything can be changed at any time."

"We never think negative of anyone. Purity comes when we are meditating, our thought force is increasing - then we think bad of someone and we push him down to that low. We do not do that which does not benefit one directly. We never use our time, energy, speech, ability in something that does not help us to grow and improve our life. It's not worth it."

"What comes out indicates what one has inside. It just tells the structure of the heart. If one doesn't speak ill of others it means he has a pure heart. If wrong is stored, the heart is not pure. Speaking ill of others means first transplant the wrong of his heart to our heart, to our mind, and then let that seed grow to a tree. The whole process is damaging to evolution. We never think ill of others. If sonmeone does wrong, why bring it to our heart and make it impure. 'Birds of a feather flock together'. If filth deposited in heart, it will collect and then whatever flocks together flies out."

"We teach our students that by concentration through meditation they can create an impenetrable field of energy between the ground and their bodies."

"What makes one luckier is the good that he has done to others. It comes back to him. A man doesn't become lucky by doing wrong. He becomes lucky because he has done good to others and that good comes back to him. And now he is lucky."

"What others think of us is not our concern - it is their concern... It is important only that we radiate life. Every individual must be a joy to himself, to his family and to his society."

"What we have been saying from the beginning of the Movement has been unbelievable but it has come to be believed. We have been impossible right from the beginning and we must continue to be impossible because we are raising a voice against suffering which has been considered to be the nature of life. It is our joy to be considered impossible - and it is our greater joy to make the impossible a living reality."

"What we have done, the result of that comes to us whenever it comes, either today, tomorrow, hundred years later, hundred lives later, whatever, whatever. And so, it's our own karma. That is why that philosophy in every religion: Killing is sin. Killing is sin in every religion."

"What you see you become."

"When silence functions, it is beyond any speech, it is beyond any action, it is spontaneous. It is the spontaneous function of silence. Everything comes to our lap; everything comes to our lap in the waves of thought, in the waves of our understanding, in the waves of realization."

"When the elephant decides to walk through the village, all the dogs come out and bark."

"When we think of failure; Failure will be ours. If we remain undecided; Nothing will ever change. All we need to do is want to achieve something great and then simply to do it. Never think of failure For what we think, will come about."

"What you put your attention on grows strong in your life."

"When the mind is attuned to the cosmic law, all the laws of nature are in perfect harmony with the aspirations of the mind."

"Whatever has been discovered has to be put to use - otherwise, what is the use of the discovery?"

"When you are appreciating creation as much as the Creator, then the Creator will ask, 'Who is appreciating my creation as much as me. Let me see this person."

"Where is the money going to come from? From wherever it is at the moment."

"Why should a man suffer having God within himself? And what is the value of oneself if he keeps suffering?"

"You are the master of all the laws of nature if you know the transcendental field."

"Why waste time in helplessness? Why suffer when you can enjoy? Let the days of misery and peacelessness be over."

"With the practice of deep meditation (Transcendental Meditation) the mind contacts the Bliss Consciousness of the Spirit and becomes more peaceful, happy, creative and powerful. This state of mind enriches all values of material life."

"You may not always have an ocean of bliss, but think that way anyway and it will help it come."
