Billy Graham, formally William Franklin "Billy" Graham

American Evangelist, Southern Baptist Minister, Author

"Don?t ever hesitate to take to [God] whatever is on your heart. He already knows it anyway, but He doesn?t want you to bear its pain or celebrate its joy alone."

"Don?t wavier. Make a decision. Do it now."

"Don?t miss what the Lord has in store for those who love Him and are willing to let Him be the Master of their lives."

"Don't apologize for who you are and what you've done in the past. Be who you are and do what you do."

"Each generation faces different issues and challenges, but our standard must always be measured by God's word."

"Don't get old, if you can avoid it."

"Even Hubble hasn't found yet the end of this universe, and we don't know that it has any end."

"Don't be misled by those who claim God doesn't exist, because He does."

"Each life is made up of mistakes and learning, waiting and growing, practicing patience and being persistent."

"Evangelism is when the Gospel, which is good news, is preached or presented to all people."

"Evangelicals can't be closely identified with any particular party or person. We have to stand in the middle, to preach to all the people, right and left."

"Even our pets can become idols."

"Even the securest financial plan and the finest health coverage aren't enough to hold us steady when the challenges come... We need something more, something deeper and unshakeable, something that will see us through life's hard times."

"Even when we allow our imaginations to run wild on the joys of heaven, we find that our minds are incapable of conceiving what it will be like."

"Every President I think I've ever known, except Truman, has thought they didn't quite get done what they wanted done. And toward the end of their Administrations, they were disappointed and wished they had done some things differently."

"Everybody has a little bit of Watergate in him"

"Every day is a gift from God, no matter how old we are."

"Everywhere I go I find that people... both leaders and individuals... are asking one basic question, 'Is there any hope for the future?' My answer is the same, 'Yes, through Jesus Christ.'"

"Every human being is under construction from conception to death."

"Except in emergencies, we never let a day go by but we had Bible reading and prayer. As the children got older, we asked them to participate. When I was home, I went up to tuck them in and to pray with them. Sometimes Ruth would stay up till one or two o?clock if one of them wanted to talk. Some of the greatest conversations I?ve had with any of my children have been late at night."

"Every year during their High Holy Days, the Jewish community reminds us all of our need for repentance and forgiveness."

"For a married couple to expect perfection in each other is unrealistic."

"For those of you who do not know Him, choosing your eternal home is the most important decision you will ever make."

"Family prayer is a fourth vital link in the chain of spiritual strength?a strength we are trying to build to protect us from a world gone mad. Practicing prayer as a family, not just a flippant blessing before a meal, can give us the security we need."

"Forgiveness does not come easily to us, especially when someone we have trusted betrays our trust. And yet if we do not learn to forgive, we will discover that we can never really rebuild trust."

"Give me five minutes with a person's checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is."

"For us all, the world is disorderly and dangerous; ungoverned, and apparently ungovernable. The questions arise: Who will restore order? Who can counter the danger of nuclear holocaust? Who alone can govern the world?"

"God can use the fear that grips the hearts of men today to point them to eternal truths? the truth of God?s eternal judgment, and the truth of His eternal love."

"God is more interested in your future and your relationships than you are."

"God knows what we are going through when we grieve, and He wants to assure us of His love and concern. He also wants us to turn to Him and bring our heartaches and burdens to Him."

"God has given us two hands - one to receive with and the other to give with. We are not cisterns made for hoarding; we are channels made for sharing."

"God measures people by the small dimensions of humility and not by the bigness of their achievements or the size of their capabilities."

"God is unchanging in His love. He loves you. He has a plan for your life. Don't let the newspaper headlines frighten you. God is still sovereign; He's still on the throne."

"God never meant that people were to wear clothes. He meant we were to be nude. But we were in a state of innocence. Then sin came into the human race and became a blood poisoning."

"God, our Heavenly Father, loves us, His children?and one of our greatest privileges is coming to Him in prayer. And because He already knows our needs, we can be confident His answer will be best. If He didn?t know our needs, why bother to pray? But He does, and this should give us confidence in prayer. Thank God that He knows your needs and wants you to come to Him in prayer. Remember: His Son gave His life that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16)."

"God never takes away something from your life without replacing it with something better."

"God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he'll be there."

"God's angels often protect his servants from potential enemies."

"God's mercy and grace give me hope - for myself, and for our world."

"Golden years must have been coined by the young. It is doubtful that anyone over seventy would have described this phase of life with such a symbolic word."

"God?s Kingdom is not built on the profit motive. The world?s favorite verb is get. The verb of the Christian is give. Self-interest is basic in modern society. Everyone asks, What?s in it for me? In a world founded on materialism, this is natural and normal. But in God?s Kingdom self-interest is not basic?selflessness is. The Founder, Jesus Christ, was rich, and yet He became poor that we through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9)."

"Gratitude is one of the greatest graces; ingratitude, one of the most vicious sins."

"He lives in the hearts of those who trust in Him. Our confidence in life after death comes from these very truths."

"Growing old has been the greatest surprise of my life."

"He who prays as he ought, will endeavor to live as he prays."

"He will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. PSALM 91:11 RSV A secret agent is one who seeks to protect his country, his king, or his president against evil forces that are opposed to the one he serves. The American Secret Service is charged with protecting the president of the United States. They do an excellent job, but even they will tell you that someone who is fiercely determined to assassinate the president could be successful. God has His own secret agents?the angels. Unseen and unrecognized by the world, they never fail in their appointed tasks. Much has been written recently about angels?often not based on the Bible but on popular legends. But angels are real, and God has commanded them to watch over us. Only in eternity will we know how many accidents they prevented or how often they kept Satan?s malicious spirits at bay. In the meantime, we can take comfort in their presence and thank God for the love He expresses for us through their service."

"Heaven doesn?t make this life less important; it makes it more important."

"Heaven gives us hope and makes our present burdens easier to bear."

"Heaven gives us hope?hope for today and hope for the future. No matter what we?re facing, we know it is only temporary, and ahead of us is Heaven."

"Heaven is a wonderful place and the benefits for the believer are out of this world!"
